Mr. Ram Boolchand Jethmalani, an eminent jurist and parliamentarian, led a successful legal career for 78 years and contributed towards the legal profession till the end. The achievements of this feisty legal crusader are unlikely to ever be matched anywhere in the world. Handling the country’s controversial and high profile cases, he was indeed the “Doyen of the legal profession” who lit up every court room he graced. His arguments so persuasive, it was almost alluring. A teacher even before the start of his legal career, his contribution to the legal field is immense.

In order to celebrate his life and profession Legitquest is honored to be instituting the first Moot Court Competition in his name. The Ram Jethmalani Moot Court Competition is a tribute to him.

Format of the Competition

This competition will challenge the young legal minds of the country with a constitutional law moot proposition. Teams of three members, two speakers and a researcher, from all over the country will be competing against each other to claim total prize money worth 1 lakh 60 thousand Rupees. With unmatched hospitality, participants will have an exhilarating experience, in this one of a kind moot court competition.

Teams will be required to fulfill their memorial and video submissions as per the deadline. The competition will have a memorial and video qualifying round, a researchers’ test and oral rounds. On qualifying each team will argue twice in the preliminary round, both from the applicants and the respondents side. Teams with two wins in the preliminary will compete in the Quarter-finals. The Quarter-finals will be succeeded by the semi-finals and the grand finals.
